For a new domiciliary-care provider, the application journey starts long before the forms are sent. The hard work is deciding exactly what you are applying to run and proving that the people, systems and evidence support it.
Why the journey matters
CQC says it reviews new provider applications for completeness, correctness and supporting documents. Incomplete applications can be rejected. If an application is returned or refused and you apply again, you should expect time to be lost and the plan to be pushed back.
That is why Monad does not begin by pretending the application is ready. It starts by testing the idea, then builds the application only if the foundations are credible.
- 1. Work out what the service isHome care, personal care, geography, client group, management route and how the service will actually operate.
- 2. Check the peopleProvider, directors, Registered Manager and Nominated Individual arrangements need to make sense before the paperwork can be credible.
- 3. Test readinessThe £99 Readiness Check highlights whether the basics are clear or whether the idea is still too underdeveloped.
- 4. Test viabilityThe £399 Full Viability Review looks at the proposed application, operating model, market, evidence gaps and commercial assumptions.
- 5. Decide whether to progressPheon only accepts cases where there is a credible route forward and the applicant is willing to address the gaps.
- 6. Build the applicationProvider information, people, regulated activity, location, Statement of Purpose, Business Plan and supporting evidence are built together.
- 7. Review for consistencyThe pack is checked so the application, documents and evidence do not contradict each other.
- 8. Submit to CQCYou submit the application. Monad prepares the pack; it does not submit it for you.
- 9. Respond to assessmentCQC may ask questions, request more information, interview relevant people or assess the proposed service before making a decision.
