The pack is not the finish line. It is the point where CQC starts assessing you.
The applicant/provider submits the application to CQC. Monad does not submit it for you, and CQC remains the decision-maker.
What CQC may do after submission
- Check whether the application is complete
- Request further information
- Assess the provider
- Assess the Registered Manager where applicable
- Conduct interviews or assessment activity
- Visit relevant premises where appropriate
- Make the registration decision
Preparing for interview / assessment
CQC may want to understand the provider’s knowledge, leadership, governance, safeguarding approach, staffing assumptions, service model and readiness to run the service. The Registered Manager and Nominated Individual may need to explain their roles and the proposed operating model.
This is why the application pack needs to be more than impressive wording. The people named in the application should understand what it says and be able to explain how the proposed service will actually work.
No public Monad page promises timescales or outcomes. CQC remains the decision-maker.
